Over 30,000 people received COVID-19 vaccine in Massachusetts

Newly published data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health tracks the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses delivered so far and how many were administered.

The report, which will be published weekly, shows that 35,618 people have received the first dose of a vaccine so far. Both of the vaccines that obtained emergency authorization from the Food and Drug Administration this month require two doses.

To date, 59,475 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were shipped to Massachusetts. Another 87,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine arrived within the past seven days.

Also Thursday, health officials reported an additional 5,655 cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 328,307 since the start of the pandemic.

The daily report also added 76 new deaths to the state’s total, which is now 11,706.

An estimated 80,800 cases are active across Massachusetts, according to the report.
